Gamifying a Moodle course. What difference does it make? Week 3

Week 3 of the ‘Gamify or not gamify‘ a Moodle course experiment. This experiment is getting a lot of attention, a lot more than I thought it would, and many teachers have asked me how they can gamify their Moodle courses. For this week’s post I have created a screencast showing the steps I took to gamify my course. The video lasts just under 20 minutes and is best viewed full screen.

  1. Hi, succession of articles.
    Your solution is complicated, just use cascading conditions.
    For example quiz5 after completion of the quiz4.
    The message for student id shorter.

      Thanks for your comment. I believe I already do that, for activities that must be completed in a specific order I.e. housekeeping & quizzes. However, for some of the badges I cannot do that as the activities they are based on can be completed in any order.
      However, I might have misunderstood what you meant.

    What a gold gem this is! I work as faculty support for moodle at a college and have been exploring the idea of badges in moodle. Your tutorial and use of the badges idea is inspiring!
